If you’d like things to progress as
quickly as possible, you can choose to wear
the Standard Nighttime Appliance full time
as well. If your case requires the wire to
be effectively treated, it’s your only
option if you want full-time. The wire is
sometimes used to put pressure on the front
of a tooth to get it or keep it where it
needs to be.
If your case doesn’t require the wire to
be treated effectively, you might choose one
of the other more esthetic options if you
desire full-time wear.
The Invisible Self Retaining Appliance is
one option that is difficult to see when
wearing, as is the Translucent Wire
Appliance. They’re often interchangeable
based on preference or one may be better
suited to a particular case. Your dentist or
orthodontist will let you know. Each is
priced the same so there are no worries
there.
If you’re someone who wants to finish
sooner rather than later… and you want
nothing at all showing in front of your
teeth, whether it’s difficult to see or not,
the daytime only options will be the best
choice for you. They seat completely behind
the teeth and can’t be seen at all. They
would be worn during the day in conjunction
with the nighttime appliance at night. The
disadvantage is that you add the cost of
another appliance, though this can be
quite reasonable with NightShift® and well
worth it if completely undetectable wear is imperative
to you.
